Help an Acid Attack victim and her Newborn Baby get a Home

While we continue to lobby for a separate Acid Attacks Law in Uganda, many innocent people continue to be attacked. Our change.org Supporters, Please stand with us. We are Raising $30,000 to help Sumaiya and her Newborn baby get a place to call their home. Sumaiya Namwanje is a victim of a vicious Acid Attack violence who is still in the hospital battling the burns. This is a common form of gender Based violence in Uganda. She was attacked by her boyfriend which left her blinded in one eye and badly burnt most part of her body. CERESAV has been standing with Sumaiya through her battle with the burns while pregnant. CERESAV ( http://ceresav.org) is a Non-Government Organization working to address challenges faced by victims and survivors of acid attack violence in Uganda. CERESAV on the morning of April 10, 2017, celebrated the birth of the miracle baby, Mother and baby are both in good condition and are now able to bond after the baby had to be put under nursery care, Thanks to the generous prayers and support we have received through this journey. CERESAV is however hit by the reality of Sumaiya and her baby having no home to return to once they are discharged from the hospital. While we work to promote social justice, CERESAV's rehabilitation objective is to help survivors of acid attack violence reintegrate back into the community. We are however a young organization with limited capacity to meet such desperate need like Sumaiya's homelessness. We have no government program in Uganda to meet such desperate needs. CERESAV is looking for funds to help Sumaiya buy a plot of land and build a house enough for her and her baby so they don't have to worry about eviction by landlords. CERESAV appeals to our change.org supporters to stand with us to give Sumaiya and her baby a place to call home.Sumaiya and her baby need a home to go to when they leave the hospital so they do not end up on the streets of Kampala. Every dollar you donate to this humanity cause makes a significant difference. With $30,000, CERESAV would use the funds to buy Sumaiya a piece of land, build a house enough for her and her baby, and work to equip her with the basic survival skills to reintegrate back into the community with dignity.
