Tony Parker et l'ASVEL doivent se retirer du tournoi de basket prévu en Israël en septembre prochain.
Après de trop nombreux mois de massacres répétés de la population civile à Gaza par Israël sous prétexte de combattre le Hamas, le bilan minimal approche les 40.000 victimes civiles, dont la majorité sont des femmes et des enfants. Chaque jour ce bilan s’alourdit et de nouvelles images des massacres inondent les réseaux sociaux, rendant chaque jour un peu plus plausibles les accusations de génocide formulées à l’encontre d’Israël notamment par l’Afrique du Sud devant la Cour internationale de Justice[1].
C’est dans ce contexte que Tony Parker, Président du club de basket historique villeurbannais l’ASVEL, s’est rendu spécialement à Tel Aviv pour annoncer son soutien et la participation du club à l’initiative d’Ofer Yannay qui organise un tournoi de basket professionnel amical en septembre 2024 en Israël[2]. M. Ofer Yannay, milliardaire israélien et Président du club de basket Hapoël Tel-Aviv, est un soutien public de l’armée israélienne et prend soin depuis novembre 2023 de promouvoir en Europe la campagne criminelle israélienne à Gaza[3]. Ce tournoi monté comme une vaste opération de communication repose sur la renommée internationale de Tony Parker et vise à normaliser les crimes de guerre commis par Israël à Gaza en montrant que l'on peut jouer au basket "en sécurité" alors que des enfants palestiniens sont massacrés à quelques dizaines de kilomètres de Tel Aviv.
Cette décision de Tony Parker rend le club de basket l'ASVEL complice du blanchiment des crimes d'Israël en le faisant participer au premier événement sportif professionnel en Israël depuis le début des massacres à Gaza!
Cette décision salit le nom de notre ville à la tradition populaire et multiculturelle dont le club est un des représentants historiques et massivement subventionné par la commune, c’est-à-dire par les Villeurbannais.es!
En février 2022, Tony Parker avait pourtant annulé la participation de son club à l’Euroligue en Russie en raison de l’agression russe en Ukraine en déclarant : "Nous n'irons pas en Russie la semaine prochaine. Je l'ai déjà annoncé à mes joueurs et mon staff. Cela va au-delà du sport. On ne peut pas accepter la situation qui est totalement à l'opposé de nos valeurs. Il est hors de question d'envoyer notre équipe en Russie". Le Maire de Villeurbanne avait publiquement soutenu ce retrait[4]. Comment Tony Parker, l'ASVEL et la ville de Villeurbanne pourraient-ils justifier ce double standard ? Une vie palestinienne a-t-elle moins de valeur qu'une vie ukrainiene ?
- Nous demandons à Tony Parker de revenir sur sa décision et de retirer l’ASVEL du tournoi prévu en septembre en Israël comme il avait décidé de se retirer de l’Euroligue en Russie.
- Nous demandons au Maire de Villeurbanne Cédric Van Styvendael de dénoncer publiquement cette participation et de faire pression pour que le club se retire du tournoi en Israël en solidarité avec le peuple palestinien.
- Nous demandons au groupe LDLC et à son PDG M. Laurent de la Clergerie qui est le sponsor principal du club LDLC-ASVEL et de sa salle la LDLC-ARENA de dénoncer publiquement cette participation et de demander à Tony Parker de se retirer du tournoi.

Are the ASVEL and Villeurbanne complicit in the genocide happening in Gaza?
Tony Parker and the ASVEL must withdraw themselves from the basketball tournament happening in Israel next September.
After too many months of repeated massacres of the civilian population in Gaza by Israel under the pretext of fighting Hamas, the minimum death toll is approaching 40,000 civilians, the majority of them women and children. With each passing day, this death toll rises, and new images of the massacres flood social networks, making the accusations of genocide raised by South Africa against Israel before the International Court of Justice[1] more plausible each day.
Despite this context, Tony Parker, President of the historic Asvel Basketball Club of Villeurbanne, made a special visit to Tel Aviv to announce his support and his club’s participation to a friendly professional basketball tournament organised by Ofer Yannay in Israel in September 2024 [2]. M. Ofer Yannay, Israel billionaire and President of the Hapoël Tel Aviv Basketball Club, is a public advocate of the Israeli army and has been promoting Israel’s criminal campaign in Gaza in Europe since 2023 [3]. This tournament, meant as a communication campaign, sits on Tony Parker’s international reputation to normalize Israel’s war crimes in Gaza by showing it is “safe” to play basketball while Palestinian children are being massacred a few dozen kilometres away from Tel Aviv.
By having the Asvel Basketball Club participate in the first professional sporting event in Israel since the start of the massacres in Gaza, Tony Parker’s decision makes the ASVEL complicit in the laundering of Israel’s crimes.
This decision tarnishes the popular and multicultural renown of our city, of which the basketball club is one of the historical representatives, and which is massively subsidized by the municipality, in other words the tax payers of Villeurbanne!
Back in February 2022, Tony Parker had cancelled his club’s participation in the Euroleague in Russia due to the Russian aggression of Ukraine, declaring: “We won’t be going to Russia next week. I have already announced it to my players and staff. This goes beyond sport. We can’t accept the situation which is totally against our values. Sending our team of Russia is out of the question”. The Mayor of Villeurbanne had officially supported this withdrawal [4]. How can Tony Parker, the ASVEL Basketball Club, and the city of Villeurbanne justify this double standard? Is a Palestinian life worth less than a Ukrainian one?
- We call on Tony Parker to go back on his decision and withdraw the ASVEL Basketball Club from the tournament scheduled for September in Israel, just as he decided to withdraw from the Euroleague in Russia.
- We call on the Mayor of Villeurbanne, Cedric Van Stydendael, to publicly denounce this participation and to advocate for the club to withdraw from the tournament in Israel in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
- We call on the LDLC group and its CEO, Mr Laurent de la Clergerie, which is the main sponsor of the LDLC-ASVEL Basketball Club and of its venue, the LDLC-Arena, to publicly denounce this participation and ask Tony Parker to withdraw from the tournament.

يجب على توتي باركر و اسفل الانسحاب من بطولة كرة السلة المقررة في إسرائيل في سبتمبر المقبل.
فبعد عدة أشهر من المذابح المتكررة بحق السكان المدنيين في غزة على يد إسرائيل تحت ذريعة قتال حماس، يقترب الحد الأدنى لعدد الضحايا من 40 ألف ضحية مدنية، وأغلبهم من النساء والأطفال. وتزداد هذه الحصيلة كل يوم، وتتدفق صور جديدة للمذابح على شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي، ما يجعل الاتهامات بالإبادة الجماعية الموجهة لإسرائيل، ولا سيما من جانب جنوب إفريقيا، أمام محكمة العدل الدولية أكثر منطقية إلى حد ما [1].
وفي هذا السياق، سافر توني باركر، رئيس نادي فيلوربان التاريخي لكرة السلة اسفل إلى تل أبيب للإعلان عن دعمه ومشاركة النادي في مبادرة عوفر ياناي التي تقضي بتنظيم بطولة ودية احترافية لكرة السلة في سبتمبر 2024 في إسرائيل.
عوفر ياناي، الملياردير الإسرائيلي ورئيس نادي هبوعيل تل أبيب لكرة السلة، هو من المؤيدين العلنيين للجيش الإسرائيلي ويحرص منذ نوفمبر 2023 على الترويج للحملة الإجرامية الإسرائيلية على غزة في أوروبا[3]. هذه البطولة، أنشئت لتكون عملية اتصالات واسعة النطاق، تعتمد على السمعة الدولية لتوني باركر وتهدف إلى تطبيع جرائم الحرب التي ترتكبها إسرائيل في غزة من خلال إظهار أننا نستطيع لعب كرة السلة "بأمان" بينما يتم ذبح الأطفال الفلسطينيين عدة مرات، على بعد عشرات الكيلومترات من تل أبيب.
هذا القرار الذي اتخذه توني باركر يجعل نادي اسفل لكرة السلة متواطئا في تبييض جرائم إسرائيل من خلال مشاركته في أول حدث رياضي احترافي في إسرائيل منذ بدء المجازر في غزة!
هذا القرار يلطخ اسم مدينتنا بتقاليدها الشعبية والمتعددة الثقافات، التي يعد النادي أحد ممثليها التاريخيين ويتلقى دعمًا كبيرًا من البلدية،!
في فبراير 2022، ألغى توني باركر مشاركة ناديه في الدوري الأوروبي في روسيا بسبب العدوان الروسي على أوكرانيا، معلنًا: "لن نذهب إلى روسيا الأسبوع المقبل. لقد أعلنت ذلك بالفعل للاعبين والموظفين العاملين معي. هذا يتجاوز الرياضة، لا يمكننا قبول الوضع الذي يتعارض تمامًا مع قيمنا، ومن غير الوارد إرسال فريقنا إلى روسيا". وقد أيد عمدة فيلوربان علانية هذا الانسحاب[4]. كيف يمكن لتوني باركر وأسفيل ومدينة فيلوربان تبرير هذه المعايير المزدوجة؟ هل حياة الفلسطيني أقل قيمة من حياة الأوكراني؟
نطلب من توني باركر التراجع عن قراره وانسحاب اسفل من البطولة المقررة في سبتمبر في إسرائيل لأنه كان قد قرر الانسحاب من اليوروليغ في روسيا .
ونطلب من عمدة فيلوربان سيدريك فان ستيفينديل التنديد العلني بهذه المشاركة والضغط على النادي للانسحاب من البطولة في إسرائيل تضامنًا مع الشعب الفلسطيني.
كذلك نطلب من مجموعة لدلسي ومديرها التنفيذي وهو الراعي الرئيسي لنادي أن يدينوا هذه المشاركة علنًا وأن يطلبوا من توني باركر الانسحاب من البطولة

في فبراير 2022، ألغى توني باركر مشاركة ناديه في الدوري الأوروبي في روسيا بسبب العدوان الروسي على أوكرانيا، معلنًا: "لن نذهب إلى روسيا الأسبوع المقبل. لقد أعلنت ذلك بالفعل للاعبين والموظفين العاملين معي. هذا يتجاوز الرياضة، لا يمكننا قبول الوضع الذي يتعارض تمامًا مع قيمنا، ومن غير الوارد إرسال فريقنا إلى روسيا". وقد أيد عمدة فيلوربان علانية هذا الانسحاب[4]. كيف يمكن لتوني باركر وأسفيل ومدينة فيلوربان تبرير هذه المعايير المزدوجة؟ هل حياة الفلسطيني أقل قيمة من حياة الأوكراني؟
نطلب من توني باركر التراجع عن قراره وانسحاب اسفل من البطولة المقررة في سبتمبر في إسرائيل لأنه كان قد قرر الانسحاب من اليوروليغ في روسيا .
ونطلب من عمدة فيلوربان سيدريك فان ستيفينديل التنديد العلني بهذه المشاركة والضغط على النادي للانسحاب من البطولة في إسرائيل تضامنًا مع الشعب الفلسطيني.
كذلك نطلب من مجموعة لدلسي ومديرها التنفيذي وهو الراعي الرئيسي لنادي أن يدينوا هذه المشاركة علنًا وأن يطلبوا من توني باركر الانسحاب من البطولة

[1] دعت محكمة العدل الدولية (الأمر الصادر في 26 يناير/كانون الثاني) ومجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة (25 مارس/آذار (القرار 2728)) إسرائيل إلى وقف المجازر ووقف إطلاق النار من أجل السماح للعاملين في المجال الإنساني بتقديم المساعدة لسكان غزة. يطلب مكتب المدعي العام للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية من المحكمة إصدار أوامر اعتقال بحق مجرمي الحرب الإسرائيليين، بمن فيهم رئيس الوزراء نتنياهو ووزير دفاعه. لكن حتى يومنا هذا، استهزأت إسرائيل بالقانون الدولي والقانون الإنساني والأخلاق الأساسية من خلال قصف السكان المدنيين وتجويعهم وتعذيبهم، بما في ذلك آلاف الأطفال الذين يعيشون بالفعل تحت تأثير الحصار غير القانوني منذ عام 2007.
