Postpone the $165 million Seneca Valley School District construction decision

Postpone the $165 million Seneca Valley School District construction decision
The Issue
The Seneca Valley School District is considering a major financial decision—authorizing a staggering $165,000,000 for the 'Intermediate High School Performing Arts Center Addition'. This decision threatens to add a burden of $156 million of new debt to an already massive $97 million debt load, making it the highest in Butler County, Pennsylvania.
As someone deeply connected to the community and concerned about our financial future, I'm calling on Eric DiTullio, President of the Seneca Valley School Board, to table the Board’s expected October action. Our community needs transparency, facts, and justified reasons for this enormous investment. Currently, no publicly available evidence from the SVSD school board justifies such a costly project based on student population growth in the district.
The cost of this project, if approved, will fall heavily on the shoulders of average Seneca Valley households. Residents will see tax increases at a time when economic stability is crucial for families. We must stop and assess whether this project truly serves the best interests of our citizens and students.
Before moving forward, a comprehensive community-supported assessment must be conducted to ensure that the investment aligns with actual growth needs and financial health of our district. The decision impacts not only the current residents of Butler County but also its future generations.
Let's ensure responsible financial planning and sustain community trust by demanding the school board provide concrete data and project assessments. Join me in this movement to prioritize real educational needs and fiscal responsibility.
Please take a moment to sign this petition. Together, we can hold the school board accountable and protect the financial well-being of our community.
