Postpone Portland Public Schools Final Exams

The Issue

As of right now, all Portland Public High School students are required to take our final exams next week, January 24-26, as originally planned. Not only has our semester already been greatly and abruptly cut short due to the PPS district teacher strike back in November, but now it's getting cut even shorter, with no accommodations to students in mind. We are experiencing a large weather storm stretching over the greater portland - metro area that left many students and even some teachers stranded without power, and numerous other issues. This storm has made it impossible for students to continue to stay on top of their classes with the already shortened semester, and to adequately prepare for finals. Nowadays almost all of our class materials are digital. How is the district requiring students to take final exams that won’t even demonstrate their full capabilities? Especially with there being no communication with teachers for students who experienced the extended power outages.  Even if some schools and students were lucky enough to have power during this storm, it's unfair to give them an advantage towards their final exams and others no accommodations. That isn’t equity.
