Posh Supporters Deserve a Say
The Issue
This is not about what you think of the new badge.
This is about your right as fan to have a say in our legacy.
This petition is simply asking for the right to be heard.
I respect our owner and his achievements here. He puts the money in, he calls the shots. However he is merely a steward of the club. The legacy belongs to the fans.
It doesn't have to be a binding referendum, just a meaningful and transparent survey of fans that demonstrates the level support for the change. What the club do with the results is their call, but I think it's important we fans are at least heard in the first instance.
Other clubs have been down this road. Bradford City and Cambridge United were given choices. Leeds United tried to go without fan engagement and it backfired spectacularly.
The club claims we've been engaged. We haven't. We've been given 2 surveys, the second of which was very loaded. There was also a fan consultation scheduled at a strange, inconvenient time that wasn't a consultation anyway, it was more a soft unveiling of intent.
There has been no meaningful fan engagement and we are asking for it. If the club has any respect for the fans they should find out what we think and not dismiss us.
Up the Posh.
