Stop The Chop
May 15, 2021

Time is ripe, the latest planning consultation with Havant Borough Council determining the construction of the reservoir, is next Thursday 20th May - where we, Stop The Chop!, will all be submitting our deputations of objection…

We will also be presenting this petition, so signatures are key, if you could share, pass around, and push on to your relatives, friends and anyone else you can think of please do!

Please SHARE!

This may seem like ‘just another petition’ for ‘just another local woodland’  in a ‘place you’ve never heard of’, but we all need to get together and stop this ongoing national trend of losing our green spaces and our wildlife corridors to financial exploitation in the UK. Because soon, and it will be coming, it will be the small woodland on your doorstep next…

Across the world there is a massive land grab of natural territory and pristine land. These are the very last pieces of real estate that have been left untouched, and rather than preserving them, corporations and big business see them as the world's last commodities, to be exploited. The devaluation of these sacred sites is unjust to Planet Earth at a time of escalating climate change, when everyone, should be fighting to keep  woodlands safe and help stabilise the climate.

We know that the rainforests in the other hemisphere are under serious  threat but whilst we focus on these, our own precious 'British rainforests,' the ancient woodland of this land, is being ripped up and monetised under our noses.

Help us save our little patch here at Havant Thicket.

We would be wholly interested in coming together/sharing ideas with other action groups to prevent the ongoing onslaught of our natural habitats in the UK. If thats you - please get in touch.

We also support the ongoing directive to change the current UK laws involved in protecting our woodlands from deconstruction and protect our wildlife for future generations. We believe that the current trend of offsetting proposed destruction of mature forests with the planting of new trees isn't working. These compensation packages can never replace ancient ecosystems that sustain bio-diversity and its just another ruse created by big businesses to gain access to privileged unspoilt prime sites.

Lets fight!
