We are pleased to announce that in the Council meeting of this evening, all Portsmouth councillors supported the motion to not have the Records Office and former Victoria Barracks Demolished for housing.
We are clearly over the moon with the result and so pleased that the right decision has been made for the city, its constituents and for the Museum site.
It is just a shame that political pressure had to be built in order for the right session to be reached, but a result is a result!
A big thank you to Matthew Atkins and Steve Wemyess for their support this evening as well as Donna Jones. Also Linda Symes, love the bit about Glass House!
Also a massive thank you to the invaluable Alicia Denny. Your passion and willingness for ‘the right thing’ especially for the heritage and people of Portsmouth is amazing and truly admirable!!
Then there is a thank you to all of you that signed the petition. This certainly helped us show the true feelings of the residents of Portsmouth which made the decision straight forward!
Thank you
