Hello all petition supporters:

I have now written to a few MP's raising the plight of us motorcyclists and friends regrading Portsmouth's non sensical decision around barring us from thier bus lanes and stinging us with fines if we dare to. 

My first reach out was of course to the local MP's for Portsmouth (North and South) , namely Amanda Martin and Stephen Morgan. A copy of said communication is copied below:

I am appalled to hear that Portsmouth City Council have decided that revenue is more important than protecting motorcyclists , most of them Portsmouth tax payers, in their determination of who has and has not access to them.

I have spoken to a few councillors and someone from the so called safety team at PCC, who tell me they have no plans to revisit this ridiculous decision in the near future. Now I know that we MC’s had been waiting for the previous govt to get their act together and bring in legislation to make access to bus lanes for MC’s the default position for any council in England. Can you let me know how this legislation is progressing under Labour as PCC (and other councils) are no doubt gleefully picking up fines from poor MC’s while we wait for some sense to surface. London has already shown the way and the longer this is not resolved the more unjust fines will be handed out.

Unfortunately , it is a parliamentary rule that any MP engage on any business with anyone other than thier constituents and those eagle eyed amongst you will have spotted I'm a Hayling Islander not a Portsmouth resident. That doesn't matter when PCC fine me of course who have no juristrictive sensitivities , just get the cash!. However, if any of you out there feel inclined you are welcome to canvas the polititions mentioned.
