Dear Portland Parks & Recreation,

This is a petition to build and maintain safe outdoor roller skating rinks throughout the city.

The Portland roller skating community is large and growing rapidly. Unfortunately, we do not currently have any designated outdoor space to skate or hold events, such as the hugely popular Disco Nights. As a result, we must skate in multi-use areas (tennis or basketball courts) and parking lots. These are not ideal locations because they are often being used by others which can lead to verbal harassment and threats by those who do not want the space used by skaters. The only alternative we have is to pay to use the few indoor rinks in the Portland metro.

By signing this petition, you are supporting the growing roller skating community by creating a safe environment for all skaters in the form of covered and maintained roller skating rinks throughout our beautiful city of Portland.
