The Lund Avenue bridge in Port Orchard is a quaint bridge with a beautiful view of Black Jack creek over 200 feet below.  Sadly, it has also hosted at least 2 suicides in recent history.  The railing on the bridge is maybe 4 feet high and offers little protection to someone slipping; nor any protest to someone wanting to go over.
The financial cost of installing taller railing, fence, net, or some other system is likely less than the cost of the personnel recovery operations that occur to recover a persons remains not to mention the danger our first responders put themselves in during such an operation.  The emotional cost on a family, friends, and the community when this happens will likely justify the expenditure by itself. 

We petition the Port Orchard City Council to ask for a cost proposal for installing at least a fence to keep people from falling or jumping off of either side of the Lund Avenue Bridge.  We can not make everything suicide proof, but we can do it to this bridge.
