For many, Christmas is a time for joy, family, and belonging. But for care leavers like Poppy, it’s often a time of loneliness and loss.
On christmas day, while many of us were surrounded by warmth, laughter, and the comfort of loved ones, countless care leavers spent Christmas alone—unsupported, unheard, and unseen.
Poppy didn’t have the safety net so many of us take for granted. Without support, a comforting home, or a guiding hand, she faced life’s toughest challenges alone. Like far too many care leavers, she fell through the cracks of a system that promised to protect her.
The 5th Christmas, we imagine Poppy in heaven—a place where care leavers finally find the love and understanding they deserve. But her Christmas should have been spent here, surrounded by warmth, friendship, and hope for a brighter future.
💜 Poppy’s Law is our rallying cry for change. Born from her legacy, it is a promise to extend care leavers’ rights to the age of 35—because care doesn’t stop at 18, nor should the system’s responsibility.
