Since 16th September 2022, which Mahsa (Jina) Amini is murdered by Sharia Police in Iran, the Iranian people have started their protest and revolution against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has suppressed their rights for more than four decades. Till now, 327 innocent protesters are killed by Iranian security forces on the streets. Among these casualties, there are 47 children and 27 women were shot by war bullets or beaten to death by Iranian undercover police, Intelligence police, Islamic Revolutionary Guards, and anti-riot police. Thousands of protestors or their supporters are arrested illigally, and are under torture in prisons.

Many human rights activists are supporting Iranians, who have raised their voices against this tyrant regime. Some western governments have condemned the Islamic Republic of Iran because of its violence against defenseless protestors. However, we do not see any reaction from Pope and Vatican in supporting Iranian protesters and condemning the Iranian authorities. The regime who kills innocent children and kidnaps their bodies to force their families to stay quiet.  

How can the leader of the Catholic church, who broadcasts Jesus' values such as life, peace, and justice around the world, stay quiet against this systematic violence in Iran?! We expect  Pope and the Catholic church take a clear position about what is happening in Iran, and condemn the Islamic Republic's behavior against Iranian citizens. We hope that the Pope and the Catholic church stand with Iranians and put pressure on Iranian regime to stop the violence and release the prisoners without any conditions.  

از تاریخ ۱۶ سپتامبر ۲۰۲۲ که مهسا امینی توسط گشت ارشاد در ایران بقتل رسید. مردم ایران اعتراضات و انقلاب خود را علیه جمهوری اسلامی ایران که بیشتر از چهار دهه حقوق آنها را نادیده گرفته شروع کردند. تا به امروز ۳۲۷ انسان بی گناه توسط نیروهای امنیتی جمهوری اسلامی کشته شده اند. در میان این کشته ها ۴۷ کودک و ۲۷ زن حضور دارند که توسط شلیک گلوله یا ضرب و شتم لباس شخصی ها٬ پلیس ضد شورش٬ نیروهای اطلاعاتی و یا سپاه پاسداران کشته شده اند. هزاران معترض یا حامیان آنان بصورت غیرقانونی زندانی و تحت شکنجه در زندان های ایران هستند.

بسیاری از فعالان حقوق بشری حمایت خود را از مردم ایران که صدای خود را علیه این رژیم استبدادی بلند کرده اند٬ اعلام کرده اند. شماری از کشورهای غربی رفتار جمهوری اسلامی با شهروندان بی دفاعش را مورد تقبیح قرار داده اند. اما ما هیچ واکنشی از پاپ و کلیسای کاتولیک برای حمایت از معترضان ایران و محکومیت جمهوری اسلامی نمی بینیم. رژیمی که کودکان بی گناه را میکشد و بدن آنها را گروگان میگیرد تا خانواده های آنان سکوت کنند.

چطور رهبر کلیسای کاتولیک که گستراننده ارزش های حضرت مسیح مانند زندگی٬ صلح و عدالت در دنیاست در قبال این خشنونت ها در ایران سکوت کرده اند؟ ما توقع داریم پاپ و کلیسای کاتولیک موضع خود را در قبال آنچه در ایران در حال رخ دادن است مشخص کنند و اعمال جمهوری اسلامی علیه ایرانیان را محکوم کنند. ما امیدوارم پاپ و کلیسای کاتولیک در کنار مردم ایران بایستند و حکومت ایران را برای متوقف کردن خشونت و آزادی بدون قید شرط زندانیان تحت فشار قرار دهند.
