The Associated Students of Pomona College (ASPC) voted to endorse and participate in the antisemitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) campaign. We are asking President Starr to reaffirm her statement from earlier this year that addresses the antisemitic incidents at Pomona and to condemn this resolution and protect the Jewish student body.

According to the Working Definition of Antisemitism established by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) and adopted by the US Department of Education, BDS campaigns are antisemitic and do not serve as legitimate criticisms of Israel.

BDS real intent is to undermine any hopes for peace, justice, and human rights in the region by applying a double-standard in delegitimizing and demonizing the one and only Jewish State.

In July President Starr wrote, "I’m concerned about a resurgence in anti-Semitism in our nation and across the globe, and I condemn anti-Semitism in all its forms. Recently at Pomona, we had an incident involving the sharing of a deeply offensive and anti-Semitic social media post."

This resolution will only cause division on campus and harm the Jewish student body at Pomona. We call on President Starr that Pomona College remains true to its mission by denouncing antisemitism in its many forms. Sign now to join the united voice against antisemitism at Pomona College!
