Police investigating police represents a fundamental flaw in Australia's accountability framework. It erodes public trust, undermines transparency, and has resulted in disproportionately weak consequences for excessive use of force, abuse of power, and serious misconduct. 

When the state exercises its most extreme power, the taking of a life, it must be subject to the highest level of independent scrutiny!

Luke's Law proposes a nationally consistent, independent system of police accountability to ensure that deaths and serious injuries involving police are investigated properly, transparently, and in accordance with human rights.
