It’s been 3 years since Luke’s life was taken by police in Airlie Beach and what has followed has been almost as brutal. So we decided that if they’re going to write a piece of fiction and call it inquest findings then we’re going to write the truth.
We vowed from the moment the police stood in our kitchen and told us they didn’t know how our son had died, that if they were going to lie and cover up the truth then the least we can do is tell everyone.
We’ve done it to expose a system that people believe protects them. Everybody will know. That is what we can do for Luke. When we can’t control anything else, we CAN give him a voice because we’re from Manchester and we don’t take that shit!!!
This project has been a massive undertaking, gathering and collecting information, fact checking every single line and forcing ourselves to revisit some of the most traumatic experiences of our lives triggering some very dark days.
Luke’s killing has shattered our entire family. The fact that the circumstances surrounding his death are being covered up by the largest organisation in the country has only compounded our grief further.
Our book will be a permanent and lasting legacy for our son who’s live forever date is now known as POLICE BRUTALITY AWARENESS DAY…and is dedicated to all families whose loved ones have been taken by police violence, whose pain and suffering are rarely acknowledged by the public or the media.

This book is THE truth…one that is not yet complete.
We remind those who have played a role in our sons killing and the subsequent investigation (a term we use very lightly) that if you had wanted us to speak better of you then you should have behaved better. You have had 3 years in which to acknowledge the pain and suffering your actions have caused, accept wrongdoing and attempt to make amends but you have not!
The book has details in it that we have never shared before and one thing is certain, it’s all true and we will be heard. Persistence beats resistance. Truth beats lies so when we ask “when cops kill, who polices the police?” just know that WE do…#LUKESLAW will put an end to police investigating themselves and our case is proof why that needs to stop.
