Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale Fail
The issue
We Love Pokémon GO. Please Listen SCOPELY. That’s why this is so hard to write.
Mega Finale was supposed to be a weekend we got excited about, planned around and shared with Pokémon go community.
Instead, for many Trainers, it became one of the most frustrating experiences they’ve had playing the game.
Raids failed. Servers struggled. Passes were lost…. sometimes multiple times.
Players spent REAL money to take part, only to be told by support that they would receive one free in person pass, even when they had lost multiple Remote Raid Passes.
There was also confusion around ‘Shiny boosts’, especially for players who paid for the Deluxe GO Pass. People were left wondering what they had actually paid for.
And perhaps most upsetting of all, the whole event felt rushed. Problems happened, players struggled, and many felt like they were left to deal with the consequences themselves.
We have heard from so many Trainers who were genuinely asking themselves:
“Is this still a game I want to play?”
A lot of players were ready to walk away altogether.
That’s not what any of us want.
We don’t want Pokémon GO to become a game where you have to keep spending more and more just to feel like you’re getting the experience you used to love.
This isn’t about free Shinies. It’s not about getting free stuff. It’s about trust.
We’re asking Scopely to:
- Replace every Raid Pass genuinely lost because of a technical issue, including Remote Raid Passes.
- Be clear about Shiny boosts and detail exactly what players are paying for. Even boost shinys. We genuinely love getting them!
- Make major events feel exciting and inclusive for everyone. Not feel rushed.
- Automatically return passes when the game knows a technical problem caused a failed raid.
We know many Trainers are hurt and angry. We understand that. You have every right to be disappointed. I’m devastated.
But please, if you’re signing this petition, make your comments constructive. Scopely may read them.
Tell them what happened to you, how it made you feel and, most importantly, what you want them to do differently.
Let’s make this something they can’t simply dismiss as angry players venting.
We love this game. We want to keep playing it. We want our friends and communities to keep playing it too.
We’re asking Scopely to listen, learn from what happened and give us a reason to trust Pokémon GO again.
We’re stronger together. Every signature counts. Please tell your friends and share via social media so we can help this petention to reach the right players.
