South Africa is currently confronted with the deeply disturbing deaths of multiple women in and around Kempton Park and Ekurhuleni.

Authorities have confirmed that multiple women’s bodies were discovered over a period of approximately two months, with police investigating possible links between some of the cases. The situation became serious enough for SAPS to establish a dedicated multidisciplinary task team.

Among those affected was Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, a 38-year-old woman whose disappearance and death devastated her family and community. Her body was identified by her family on 14 September 2026.

Against this backdrop, remarks and jokes made during the Podcast and Chill discussion have been widely criticised as insensitive and disrespectful. Reports indicate that the discussion included jokes about Tsontso's running routine and circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
