On Wednesday, 16 July 2024, Daughter of a deceased patient assaulted and kicked an on duty Female doctor. No action was initiated against the accused. The doctors were forced to shutdown the OPD services. But even after 24 hrs when there were no signs of the arrest of the culprits, Emergency services at the hospital have been shut down. 

This is the first time when any hospital or doctor has been forced to shut down emergency service. This situation has been created by the administration and the public themselves where assaulting the doctor is considered normal if you allege negligence. 

This act of gross violence and absolute disregard for a doctors dignity and and safety of medical professionals. GMC Jammu rightly states that this is not a protest but a necessary stand to protest our fraternity , demand accountability, and ensure a safe working environment for all the doctors. No Justice, No Service.
