Doctors peacefully protesting for the conduct of counselling in New Delhi were brutally thrashed, assaulted and detained by Delhi Police. This is administrative assault on Doctors.

But how does it matter to you? What is the matter about?

Why doctors want counselling? So that lakhs of doctors join the hospitals as resident doctors and start working.

Why were they protesting? Because current batch counselling is postponed due to EWS quota issue, which is under Supreme court.

What happens when there is no counselling? All hospitals are working on one third manpower ( 1st year have not joined  - due to delay in counselling, Third year have left- after completing their course) 

How does it matter to me? Next time you go to a hospital, only one-third of the doctors are there. So be prepared to wait. May be your turn will never come, if you are unlucky. 

Who are the doctors fighting for? They are fighting for the common people of India. Because they know that if COVID third wave hits, manpower of doctors will be grossly inadequate.

What can you do? Ask your government to conduct the counselling immediately. Ask Supreme Court to fast track hearing.

Why should you ask? Because if the COVID wave strikes, there will be one third ( 33% ) doctors only to handle.

Why go on strike? If common man of India starts asking the government and court his right by asking to conduct counselling and increase number of doctors in hospital, doctors will do what they do best - save lives.
