Today’s incident at Iq city medical college Durgapur : A huge mob had gathered from the nearby rural areas, following the death of a 3 year old child. The child was admitted today early morning. Will furnish details of the death in later posts. Now I will focus on the pattern of vandalism. The mob worked in a very planned manner and they first entered through the emergency gate, tried breaking the glasses with fire extinguishers. Then they divided into groups and blocked every exit of the hospital and overpowered the guards and not allowing anyone to get out. Doctors are safe, no one has been injured. Later in the evening when I went back, till then the whole IQ City complex had been put to Siege. Yes, you read that right. Roads leading to the campus were blocked by them, by make shift road blocks with wooden logs,etc. And this continued for around 6-7 hours. The reason I wrote this whole episode is to say that even vandalism is getting more organised and nothing can be a worse prognosis for us or even society as a whole. The local administration and police was active and had reached quickly and till now RAF is posted at campus. And finally after talks with the management, the mob dispersed from the campus. Copied
