The govt have aggreed to provide security but the way in which the doctors were blamed for neglecting their duty to the patients, doctors have been further demonised and the already fragile doctor-patient relationship sustained a massive blow. During the entire episode, governments own failure of duty of security of its citizens including doctors was merely brushed under the carpet. The failure to upgrade the health system that has led to this crisis situation was convieniently kept hidden. May be the government keeps its promise and fulfills all the security demands ( which will be good) , but the seeds of anger against the doctor were watered too well and will bear bitter fruits of further dissent, rift and suspicion for the medical fraternity. But, thats that. After all we are doctors. What can we do. We can treat patients but treating healthcare system is not our domain. Lets treat patients and hope that the system improves some day. Till then brace yourself for another attack.
