Pledge Non-Violent Direct Action Against US Expansionist Actions

The Issue

We (Sarah and David Rose) are genuinely disturbed by the potential international consequences if the United States decided to threaten or begin invading territories outside its own. We fear for a break-down of global peace and stability, understanding the gravity of the far-reaching fallout that such actions would create.

With due respect for every nation's territorial integrity, this petition urges that we commit ourselves to nonviolent direct actions should the US consider invading Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal, the Gaza strip, or any other non-US territory as of 04/01/2025.

The world has witnessed the devastation brought on by invasion and conflicts historically. Conflicts, such as the Iraq invasion in 2003 caused an estimated 100,000 violent civilian deaths in just three years (source: The Lancet).

Proactive peacekeeping is our responsibility. An escalation of expansionist actions by the U.S. can lead to substantial strain on international relations, global economic destabilization, potential catastrophic environmental destruction, and significant humanitarian crises. We must stand together in preserving peace, stability, and respect for national boundaries and human dignity.

Let's pledge to initiate prevention, and if necessary, nonviolent resistance. Sign this petition to express your support for peaceful resolution and against any potential US expansionist actions.

Here are 2 options for pledges if you want to share them:

Legal Protest Pledge:

If the United States invades, annexes, bombs, sends combat troops, or otherwise significantly escalates its interactions with Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal, and the Gaza strip, or any other non-US territory, I pledge to join with others to engage in nonviolent acts of legal protest as my conscience leads me, including such actions as participating in demonstrations, vigils, leaf lettings, art, social media, and appeals to Congress, the Senate, and the White House, and the national and international media.

I also pledge to demonstrate my support for those who engage in acts of nonviolent civil disobedience in order to prevent or halt death and destruction in the aforementioned places on this beautiful earth.

Civil Disobedience Pledge:

If the United States invades, annexes, bombs, sends combat troops, or otherwise significantly escalates its interactions with Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal, and the Gaza strip, or any other non-US territory, I pledge to join with others to engage in acts of nonviolent civil disobedience as my conscience leads me, at U.S. Federal Facilities, including U.S. Federal Buildings, Military Installations, Congressional and Senatorial Offices, Offices of the Central Intelligence Agency, the State Department, and other appropriate places.

I pledge to engage in nonviolent civil disobedience in order to prevent or halt death and destruction which such U.S. military action causes the people in the aforementioned places on this beautiful earth.
