Please ask Argyll Council to accept their Officers Report to OBJECT to MachairWind
There is no doubt that the current 10,460 supporters of our Hebridean Horizon petition have had a huge influence on the success of our campaign. We now ask you to ensure that Argyll and Bute Council know what your views are. Argyll and Bute Council is the administrative authority over all the islands affected by MachairWind.
On the 15th of September 2026, Argyll & Bute Council’s Planning, Protective Services and Licensing (PPSL) Committee is due to consider the MachairWind proposal. The position taken by Argyll & Bute Council is one of the most important influences on the Marine Directorate as it considers whether this huge industrial development should be granted consent.
The very encouraging news today is that Argyll and Bute Council's Officers’ Report to the PPSL Committee objected to the MachairWind proposal as the recommended response to the Scottish Government’s Marine Directorate.
Please help us ensure the Officers Report is properly considered by the Committee. We need as many people as possible to email the PPSL Committee by September 15th and ask them to agree to their own Officers' Report and object to Machair Wind. They need to know there is a world-wide support for the protection of the fragile and unique Hebridean island environments of Iona, Mull, Jura, Tiree, Islay and Colonsay within their care.
