There is finally an update on what is going on with the "Citywide Parking Study" aka "Pilot Paid Parking Program in select areas" just found in the City of Hawthorne Public Works tab.

According to Hawthorne's latest update, they say "Community feedback will play a key role in shaping the final approach." IF that is true, please let them know that you DO NOT WANT PAID PARKING/METERS in Hawthorne in their SURVEY found within their map image. (Image above is only the screenshot)

It appears that Hawthorne is elaborating on how their metered parking "study" will operate and they want resident feedback, but didn't we present them our stance with our petition? Is the city of Hawthorne ignoring it? I think we need to keep circulating the petition and I need to go back to city hall to give them OUR feedback from the growing number of signers of the petition. 

Do you know how adding paid parking/meters helps residents? We residents know that when we visit businesses on Hawthorne Blvd or park lots, there is always at least somewhere to park for free as we come in and out of a business within an hour to two at the most. The city wants to say that they are solving the demand for parking or congestion by charging us ALL for said parking when it has always been available for free. 

If you don't pay for meters, then guess what you can pay for according to the city? They will have residents "... buy a parking permit from any internet enabled device by registering your vehicle’s license plate in the parking permit system".  Any way they slice it, they are finding ways to charge residents money via meters, permits, tickets, etc.

I believe that if residents allow ANY paid parking in Hawthorne, the city will implement even more parking locations to take our money via permits, tickets, meters, etc. 

Read their plan (open their blue bold tabs), give Hawthorne your feedback or comment, and keep circulating this petition to stop this paid parking in Hawthorne money grab from you, please.
