Hi everyone!
Since I started this Petition, I have helped my County, (Randolph County, NC) pass a ban on tethering. Hallelujah!
I am now assisting in getting the Davidson County, NC Commissioners to pass a ban as well!
I am ALSO attending the Asheboro City Council Meeting on Feb. 1st, to try to convince THOSE GUYS to pass a ban on tethering.
I encourage everyone who signed this Petition to READ IT, and what to do next is SIMPLE.
Find out when your City Council, or County Commissioners will have their next meeting.
Make a speech, or list of Bullet Points of what you plan to say.
Get to the meeting early, and SIGN IN to speak. Most Meetings have a Public Address at the beginning, which will allow Citizens around 3 minutes to say what's on their mind, and get things off their chest.
ASK THEM FOR A BAN ON TETHERING.
Tell them WHY it is important.
While everyone who signs this is likely a true "Animal Nut," try to appeal to what they care most about: PUBLIC SAFETY, AND PUBLIC FINANCE. You can mention the Animal Cruelty part, but be as passionate about the Public Safety & Public Finance. You have to learn to speak their language.
Let them know how angry dogs that break chains eat people, and nobody - NOBODY wants to purchase property next to a chained dog, which diminishes property value. THAT will speak to them.
I have helped one County...... helping another now, and a City. I am not afraid anymore! It was scary to speak the 1st time, but now it's EASY!
It's just like talking to kids in a classroom, or players of a sports team. Just pep them up to believe, this is a great idea!
Bring at least 4 others to speak. It really takes at least 3 total speakers to make an impact. The more the better. Nobody should appear angry or confrontational.
Let your educated & proper side, shine through!
It is SO easy to do this, please give it a try.
IF your Councilmen or Commissioners will not consider passing it, PLEASE read the Petition again, and continue to show up making these points. They cannot say no if you don't give up.
Please continue to share the Petition. While the Petition itself might not change anything, what it says WILL.
After countless, sleepless nights, tossing & turning, worrying about a neighbor's dog, my journey has led to this. I was told it would never pass. Please enjoy MY COUNTY'S Public Service Announcement, which I MADE, and once never thought possible!
Share if you like, but PLEASE continue to share this Petition!
