We’re pleased to be able to let you know that after some detailed discussions, a final application for a special licence to be able to benefit from the medical cannabis products that delivered such dramatic improvements in Alfie’s health has now been submitted to the Home Office.
Our understanding is that the Home Office will be considering this application over the coming days.
We would like to say once again just how grateful we are to the many hundreds of thousands of people that have supported us by signing Alfie’s petition, emailing their MP and spreading word of our fight across social networks and other platforms.
And we again thank the many parliamentarians who have expressed support for Alfie, many of whom have specifically lobbied the Home Office and Number 10 on his behalf.
We appreciate every expression of support and every effort to lobby on Alfie’s behalf. Together, you have helped us build a formidable campaign which reached a particular intensity at the end of last month when we handed in our petition at 10 Downing Street.
We were particularly uplifted and touched by the fact that the Prime Minister herself took the time to meet Alfie.
We hope that compassion will be the order of the day, and that the Home Office will grant Alfie his licence as soon as possible.
Please continue to ask friends and relatives to sign our petition at https://www.change.org/p/please-save-my-son-alfie-by-allowing-him-to-legally-use-medical-cannabis so that the Home Office is fully aware of the continuing strength of feeling and the positive support there will be for the granting of the licence.
Thank you again for all your support. It means the world to us.
Much love
