Dear Friends.

Over the last six months, you have all supported the call from Martin Macwan of Navsarjan Trust, Gujarat, for the removal of Manu's statue from the Rajasthan High Court premises.

I wanted to share with you a blog (see URL below) contrasting the honesty and courage with which the American South is dealing with the dark history of slavery vs. India's (and Hindu spiritual leaders') refusal to unconditionally condemn caste bigotry.

Let's resume our support for Martin Macwan's call for the removal of the Manu statue, just as Robert E Lee's statue was recently removed from the U.S. capital building and sent to a museum at the behest of the state of Virginia.

Please share this change.org petition with your family and friends on this symbolic day when Dr. Ambedkar burnt a copy fo Manu Smriti to send a defiant message against the atrocities of caste.
