Please limit vessel speeds to 18 km/h or less in major whale habitats.
The Issue
On October 8, 2024, a humpback whale named "Sweet Girl" died in a vessel strike in French Polynesia.
Rice's whales are also dying from vessel strikes. These deaths are caused by vessels traveling at speeds exceeding 18 km/h.
Therefore, we demand strict legal penalties and heavy fines for those who violate vessel speed limits.
There must be clear accountability for reckless navigation that threatens the survival of these whales
Whales are vital to our planet because a single whale can sequester around 33 tons of carbon dioxide—an amount equivalent to the capacity of thousands of trees.
If they go extinct, global warming will accelerate, and Earth could become uninhabitable for all living creatures.
Please, help Earth remain a planet for everyone!!!
