We're making progress, and your support keeps us moving forward! Here's what's happened so far: Tammie’s wrote a poem, I wanted to share as it is deep from within.
The Dungeon
D – Depressed
U – Uncertain
N – Never enough
G – Guilty
E – Emotional
O – On the edge
N – Never-ending
I’m fifty-five years young.
Most of my life was success;
twenty-nine years were beautiful
until the days of the dungeon.
Two thousand five became the year of pain,
where time stood still and nothing changed.
I never knew what “marked” could be—
you’d only understand if you were me.
The pain inside my heart is plain to see,
but you don’t know because you don’t live here with me.
I fought the good fight, I kept the faith,
yet with this registry there is no grace.
Life is twisted, so they say,
but you won’t know until you walk my way.
Running here, running there,
searching for relief that isn’t anywhere.
My life will never feel normal again,
never fully free from this burden within.
The dungeon of life has taken its seat,
and with it comes sorrow, shame, and defeat.
I’m weary from worry, I live in fear,
with no true end in the coming years.
The monster keeps growing day after day;
the dungeon has become where I stay.
So I end my story with this simple note:
No living soul should carry this hurt.
