We have a signature from DPS Board of Education Vice President Auon’tai M. Anderson! Thank you for standing with us and supporting small schools. Thank you for being a voice for the communities impacted by school closures. Thank you for understanding what it’s like to grow up in Denver and see everything around you change. Thank you for trying to keep the memories of our childhood in our neighborhoods alive. Thank you for representing those of us who refuse to be pushed out of our neighborhoods while everything around us is gentrified. Thank you for acknowledging that even though we are small we are mighty and we will not be silenced! Thank you for being with us Vice President Anderson! 

If you signed up to speak, please still plan on attending the public comment section on November 14, 2022 beginning at 4:30pm at 1860 Lincoln St. Although Columbian is no longer on the list of schools up for closure, we need to make sure it’s known closing small neighborhood schools is not the solution! We stand with Denver Discovery School, Schmitt Elementary, Fairview Elementary, International Academy of Denver at Harrington, Math and Science Leadership Academy.

Please continue to send EACH member of the board an email individually. If you have already sent emails to the members PLEASE continue to send them as we need them ALL to be on the same page as Vice President Anderson. You can even copy and paste what you’ve already sent, just make sure you’re sending it to each email listed individually. We need them to know how much we love our communities and the small schools that are the heart of those communities!
