ONE NZ determined to ignore widespread local objections and jack up their oversized celltower

Hi, all Friends of the Coastline!

Well, despite sustained attempts to negotiate or engage with the companies ONE, Forty South and Downer, our coalition of local groups has been informed that the Tower site is not negotiable and they have no intention of looking at other sites (not even just a few metres down the road in the commercial district) and that “relocation is not an option being considered by them. 
“We intend to remain in our current location,” they inform us from on High.

Bear in mind that what the company sees as “our current location” is public coastal pathway land, not their own property, land or title. 

We are not rolling over to allow this marginal interpretation of legislative legitimacy, to simply place these huge eyesores wherever it suits them, and will keep fighting via all channels to protect this beautiful place from visual degradation and corporate arrogance.
