The Issue

Calamity has been a defining part of the Terraria modding community for over a decade. Its bosses, its world-building, and its ambition shaped how a lot of us think about what a mod can be. The recent developments against its prior leadership, and the shutdown that followed, have hit the community and the remaining developers hard.

This petition is asking for something specific: an opportunity for CrafterDaemon to help the mod recover from the damage Ozzatron and Fabsol have caused, while building distance from the poor decisions of prior leadership. That starts with mediation and PR. Working directly with contributors who've requested their assets removed, and with the remaining team, to see how many of the pieces can realistically be recovered. If that groundwork holds, it could open the door to slowly rebuilding development from there. Any return to active development would be gradual, likely very slow at first, and would depend entirely on what's actually salvageable. Any contributions that remain under active removal requests would have to be replaced first and foremost.

CrafterDaemon has been clear that they're willing to take on the full weight of that role. Not just the title, but the responsibility and the expectations that come with trying to rebuild something this damaged the right way.

Those of us who've followed CrafterDaemon's work know them for clear communication, sound judgment, and a genuine investment in this community. Not just the code, but the trust between the people who build it and the people who play it.

This isn't a demand, nor is it directed at anyone still on the team. It's a show of support, so that if the developers are open to it, they can see there's real backing for CrafterDaemon to take on that role and try.

If you'd support that, please sign this petition. A project that has spanned a decade, and brought joy to millions of people, shouldn't die because of the poor decisions made by a single group of friends.
