The Issue
URGENT: CITY SURVEY CLOSES TONIGHT AT 11:59 PM! - Please Complete the Survey at the Link Below
The City of Toronto has released four proposed designs for George Ben Park, and TODAY, October 26, is the final opportunity to have your say!
The survey also includes a fifth option: "None of these options reflects my preference. Please explain why below:"
If none of the designs addresses your concerns, you can select this option and explain why. If you DO NOT want this development to go through, please select Option 5 and explain your reasons why.
If you feel you must select one of the four proposed designs, Options 4 and 3 appear to preserve the most green space.
COMPLETE THE CITY SURVEY BEFORE 11:59 PM TONIGHT:

The survey also asks for your postal code. Responses from residents in the immediate neighbourhood, including M6J, M6G, M6H, and M5V, may be particularly relevant to the City's assessment. Please ensure that the City know that residents and users of the park want to be heard.
Why We're Fighting to Protect George Ben Park
George Ben Park is an important green space where children play, families gather, and residents enjoy fresh air and recreation. The City's proposed redevelopment would replace portions of this open space with sports facilities, paved areas and fencing.
We're not against park improvements, but we believe the community deserves a meaningful say in changes that could permanently affect our neighbourhood.
Our concerns include:
- Loss of green space: Paving over grass in a flood-prone area reduces valuable natural and recreational space.
- Increased noise: Pickleball courts could create ongoing noise disturbances for nearby residents.
- Safety: Potential increases in disruptive activity and impacts on neighbourhood safety.
- Lack of consultation: Many residents are against this development; schools and park users were not adequately consulted before plans advanced.
- Community access: Open grass provides flexible recreational space for children, families and residents without backyards.
We're asking the City to pause the redevelopment, listen to the community, and protect our existing green space.
PLEASE ACT TODAY!
Complete the City survey before 11:59 PM tonight, sign this petition, and share it with your neighbours.
Every response is an opportunity to make our concerns heard before the consultation closes.
Let's protect George Ben Park!
