Growing up, the Olympics were always a source of entertainment and comfort for me. The biggest reminder of those days, the enjoyment of the games as a whole, and overall essence of the event in my (and many others') mind is the heavy hitting sound of the timpani and the full brassy sound of Bugler's Dream, followed by the Olympic Fanfare. Hearing that every time without fail made me excited for the games, and even to this day takes me back to that moment of enjoyment. 

As of the last two Olympic games (Paris 2024, and Milan 2026), NBC/Peacock has barely used this music, if at all, and my family and I, along with many others I've seen the opinions of online, miss it and feel it detracts from the overall enjoyment and excitement of the games. I thought perhaps they had lost the rights to use the song, but they still use a sweeping orchestral remix version of it, so that's not the case. I've started to play the song on my own during commercial breaks and the moments between events.

I'm starting this petition to ask, nay, beg, that NBC and Peacock bring back the most recognizable part of the Olympic games and our enjoyment of them by bringing back Bugler's Dream/Olympic Fanfare for use on their programming, both in advertising ahead of the games, as well as interludes returning from certain commercial breaks and wherever else you may find it. I would like to think millions would be made at least a little bit happier with this change, and in these trying times in our society, I think every little bit of enjoyment and togetherness we can glean from an event of unity and prosperity like the Olympic Games is well worth the extra time to make happen.

I implore you, please listen to us and at least sometimes use it throughout future games, as we all miss it dearly.
