UPDATE OCTOBER 12, 2023:

Lloyd and I visited Andrew for several hours today. Our host family dropped us off at the hospital early afternoon and we had supper there. Andrew was still on a gurney in the Emergency Department when we arrived, but during our visit he was transported to the psychiatric floor. Andrew was not a happy camper when he was relocated.

Andrew was very angry with us for making him stay and pleaded with us to get him out. There is a beautiful large window in his room. He looked at the sunny day and told us that he would be much happier out on the streets than stuck in the hospital.

We had an opportunity to really get a snapshot of Andrew today. He told us many things that intrigued us. At times Andrew seemed like the old Andrew, but then the switch would flip, and we witnessed a totally different Andrew. We see a very sick Andrew needing medication and hospitalization.

Andrew welcomed a kiss and hug from me when we left today. Again he hugged his father.  He told us both that he loved us.

We had many discussions today with decision makers regarding the medical transfer, Form 1 and Form 3 process. We hope that a Form 3 will be granted. The hospital acknowledged that the extensive collateral information that I provided would be very beneficial in the decision making.

Also a CCB hearing will be conducted where the rationale of the psychiatrists to detain Andrew will be challenged by Human Rights lawyers. This is not going to be a pleasant experience. The Board could rule in Andrew's favour. At this time we are hoping that Section 31 of the Ontario Mental Health Act will be implemented.

In the meantime, our hosts, Cindi and Jay Thornberry have been supporting our needs. We are staying in Etobicoke, and Jay drives us to Toronto to see Andrew. Lloyd and I are truly grateful to the Thornberry's for inviting us into their home.

Lloyd and I planned to fly home today, but the train went off the track, and we had to stay to fight yet another battle dealing with the mental health process.
In spite of the chaos, my song, God Will Take Care of You, continued to play in my head. Here is the link:

One door after another opened with people reaching out to help move the medical transfer process forward.

We have learned it takes more than a village. It takes all the citizens of Toronto and then some to help win Andrew's battle with the broken system.

HERE IS SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION SINCE WE LANDED IN TORONTO:
The plan was to file Form 2 at the Toronto Court House. Jay drove us down and we were number one in the line at the Justice of the Peace Office. We had the most wonderful Justice of the Peace interview us. He thanked me for a very comprehensive collateral information document. He told us that he did not wish to cause us any more agony and signed Form 2. This would permit the officers to apprehend Andrew and take him to the hospital.

We got on the road after we received our first sighting. Then we got our second, third and fourth sighting which led to Andrew drinking a Coke in front of Tim Horton's. Jay went up to the door of Tim Horton's, and Andrew asked him if he would buy him a large Coke and that it cost $3.00. Jay got him the Coke and then the two police cars arrived. They were very respectful of Andrew and told him that he had to go to the hospital because a Justice of the Peace had signed a Form 2. They even permitted him to finish drinking the Coke. Andrew got in the police car without incident and went to the hospital.

We determined which hospital and Jay and Cindi dropped us off. We were at the hospital for seven hours. We saw nurses, ER doctor and a ER psychiatrist. Everything came together like a big jigsaw puzzle. But I believe God was guiding each piece in the proper place at the proper time.

The psychiatrist worked on P.E.I. at one time. The nurse told us she would take good care of Andrew. We were permitted to see Andrew twice. They had given him something to settle him, as the apprehension upset him. Andrew is on a Form 1 for up to 72 hours.

EVEN THOUGH HE WAS SLEEPING I GOT TO KISS OUR SON GOOD NIGHT AT THE HOSPITAL! We rescued Andrew from the pouring rain.

WE ALSO HAD A FRIEND, KAREN SCOTT BOOTH, WHO CAME AND HELPED US ADVOCATE FOR ANDREW. She is a member of the TEAM Group. It consists of psychiatrists, police, lawyers, social workers and parents with a vested interest. They meet with Government. They lobby for mental health reform.

The PLEASE BRING ANDREW BRYENTON HOME TO P.EI. PETITION has 8612 signatures from caring and compassionate Ontario and P.E.I. residents. Here is the link: https://chng.it/TMKMZfHH2p It is fast and free.

HERE IS A VIDEO GLIMPSE OF ANDREW. HE WAS MENTALLY ILL AT THE TIME BUT NOT TO THIS DEGREE.
A lady sent this video blog of Andrew to me. I was not aware the video existed. It will give you a glimpse of Andrew, when he was relatively well. It was titled, "The Best Running Shoes."

My friend sent me the following today, "In All Things Give Thanks!" 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

A lady sent the following message, "It is so powerful how a loving community can move its members for an altruistic reason."

Lloyd and I thank every kind soul who reached out and helped Andrew since January 2023. You gave him food, water, money and clothing. We received hundreds and hundreds of posts, and photos with date, time and location. You helped our son survive on the streets of Toronto. You helped give us peace of mind each and every day for the past 11 heartbreaking months.

We thank people that searched for Andrew and helped me in so many ways. We worked as a well greased machine. We were ANDREW'S ARMY OF ANGELS! How can we ever repay the people of Ontario for your kindness and love shown to our son, Andrew Bryenton?

Lloyd and I plan to fly home tomorrow. It will be sad to leave Andrew behind, but we know he is safe in the hospital.
