UPDATE OCTOBER 11, 2023:
FIRST SIGHTING!

Lloyd and I went to visit Andrew this morning and evening, in a Toronto Hospital. He was still on a gurney in the Emergency Department. We went in his room and Andrew called us Mom and Dad. Of course, he is not happy about being in hospital and wants to go back out on the streets. He continues to say that he is doing, "Fine."

Andrew told us that it was nice to sleep on a bed.  He also told us that he had a wonderful meal at noon and listed the menu.  His hot meals over the past 11 months have been few and far between.

Andrew was calmer today but did get upset during our visit.  Amanda, our daughter called Andrew and they had a lovely chat.  Before we left, I asked Andrew if I could kiss him good-bye and he said, "YES".   I told him that I loved him to the moon and back and gave him a kiss. He again gave me a hug for the second time today. Andrew also hugged his father.  We told Andrew that we were going home.

We are hoping that the medical transfer will be initiated by the Ontario Minister of Health, Sylvia Jones, or designate soon.  Andrew's life depends on this legal document.  The Medical Transfer provision is clearly outlined in Section 31 of the Ontario Mental Health Act.  Andrew meets the criteria.  Politicians at all levels are aware of Andrew's case.  The Mental Health Ministers from across Canada are meeting in Charlottetown.  I WISH I WAS HOME TO PERSONALLY THANK MINISTER OF HEALTH, SYLVIA JONES FOR HER  ANTICIPATED ASSISTANCE!

In the meantime, our hosts, Cindi and Jay Thornberry have been super nice to us. We are staying in Etobicoke, but they drive us to Toronto to see Andrew. They have been killing us with kindness!

Their hospitality is beyond what we ever expected. Cindi is also a VERY GOOD COOK. We love her Expresso coffee. She just served us Irish Cream coffee, fresh biscuits, homemade soup and butter tarts for lunch.

DID YOU EVER HAVE A SONG POP INTO YOUR HEAD? I DID AS THE PLANE LANDED IN TORONTO. I COULD HEAR THE SONG, GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU. I FEEL GOD WAS GIVING ME COURAGE AND STRENGTH FOR A TASK THAT WAS OVERWHELMING. PLEASE ENJOY! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkATe23l7f8

FORM 2 FILED:
The plan was to file Form 2 at the Toronto Court House. Jay drove us down and we were number one in the line at the Justice of the Peace Office. We had the most wonderful Justice of the Peace interview us. He thanked me for a very comprehensive collateral information document. He told us that he did not wish to cause us any more agony and signed Form 2. This would permit the officers to apprehend Andrew and take him to the hospital.

We got on the road after we received our first sighting. Then we got our second, third and fourth sighting which led to Andrew drinking a Coke in front of Tim Horton's. Jay went up to the door of Tim Horton's, and Andrew asked him if he would buy him a large Coke and that it cost $3.00. Jay got him the Coke and then the two police cars arrived. They were very respectful of Andrew and told him that he had to go to the hospital because a Justice of the Peace had signed a Form 2. They even permitted him to finish drinking the Coke. Andrew got in the police car without incident and went to the hospital.

We determined which hospital and Jay and Cindi dropped us off. We were at the hospital for seven hours. We saw nurses, ER doctor and a ER psychiatrist. Everything came together like a big jigsaw puzzle. But I believe God was guiding each piece in the proper place at the proper time. Also I sensed that Humber Hospital was going to help Andrew this time.

The psychiatrist worked on P.E.I. at one time. The nurse told us she would take good care of Andrew.  The visitation is 24/7.  Andrew is on a Form 1 for up to 72 hours.

EVEN THOUGH HE WAS SLEEPING I GOT TO KISS OUR SON GOOD NIGHT AT THE HOSPITAL! We rescued Andrew from the pouring rain yesterday.

WE ALSO HAD A FRIEND, KAREN BOOTH SCOTT, WHO CAME AND HELPED US ADVOCATE FOR ANDREW. She is a member of the TEAM Group. It consists of psychiatrists, police, lawyers, social workers and parents with a vested interest. They meet with Government. They lobby for mental health reform.

HERE IS A VIDEO GLIMPSE OF ANDREW. HE WAS MENTALLY ILL AT THE TIME BUT NOT TO THIS DEGREE.
A lady sent this video blog of Andrew to me. I was not aware the video existed. It will give you a glimpse of Andrew, when he was relatively well. It was titled, "The Best Running Shoes." https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=F3GVRyhd4iE

My girlfriend sent me the following today, "In All Things Give Thanks!" 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

A lady sent the following message, "It is so powerful how a loving community can move its members for an altruistic reason."

Lloyd and I thank every kind soul who reached out and helped Andrew since January 2023. You gave him food, water, money and clothing. We received hundreds and hundreds of posts, and photos with date, time and location. You helped our son survive on the streets of Toronto. You helped give us peace of mind each and every day for the past 11 heartbreaking months.

We thank people that searched for Andrew and helped me in so many ways. We worked as a well greased machine. We were ANDREW'S ARMY OF ANGELS! How can we ever repay the people of Ontario for your kindness and love shown to our son, Andrew Bryenton?

THE MEDICAL TRANSFER TO P.E.I.  IS A MUST, OTHERWISE OUR SON WILL DIE ON THE STREETS OF TORONTO THIS WINTER!
