UPDATE AUGUST 3, 2023:  PLEASE DO NOT CALL ANDREW BY NAME AS YOU WILL SPOOK HIM.  PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE POLICE UNLESS ANDREW IS IN DISTRESS.

The first sighting of the day was at 8:50 a.m.  Andrew was seen walking on Wilson Avenue.  He was just past Epic Lane.  He was travelling south near Highway 401 and Jane Street near the Humber River Hospital.

The last post was at 5:30 p.m.  Andrew was on the corner of Keele and Wilson.  A photo was sent.

The highlight of the day was our Zoom meeting with an Ontario doctor and the Director of Mental Health and Addictions Program.  The doctor reviewed the Form 2 process.  He mentioned that there is a provision where a doctor can provide a letter detailing the timeframe in hospital and medications.  The doctor would outline the fact that the patient had stopped taking their medications which were making a significant difference.  The patient could then be extended beyond the 72 hour period on a Form 3.  This process would be considered a continuum of care.

Also the doctor told us that Andrew's case is an excellent example of how the Mental Health Act was throwing up roadblocks to Andrew's care and to us as caregivers.   The doctor mentioned that there needs to be Mental Health Reform.  The doctor called me an advocate.  I offered to be a part of the future discussions.  He asked permission to pass my name along.  I was thrilled at this opportunity to possibly make change in the Mental Health Act.

The PLEASE BRING ANDREW HOME TO P.E.I. PETITION SIGNATURES ARE CLIMBING DAILY.  WE NOW HAVE 2140 SIGNATURES.

HOPING THAT THE MEDIA TAKES AN INTEREST IN THIS STORY TO RAISE PUBLIC AWARENESS.
