For the bad news: Yesterday, Kentuckians voted for a new Governor and we feel that the outcome was a major blow for the animals of our state. It really seems like we are fighting a losing battle in our Old Kentucky Home! Check out the attached video to see why we feel this way, and why we feel our new Governor is a terrible strike against the animals of Kentucky. We hope it isn't true, and we truly hope he will work with us, but the video speaks for itself. For the little bit of good news: Due to the fact that Kentuckians are just not getting the picture when it comes to how our animals are treated, we have ramped up our efforts to get the word out! With the funding that all you awesome supporters have donated, we have produced a television ad that we would like to air on local television stations just prior to, or at the beginning of, the next meeting of the General Assembly. We are shooting for airing it in December or January. Here is the url address to a copy of the video, so you can see for yourself what your money has helped to produce! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIzi5SPoOq4 Now that the ad has been produced, getting it aired is another matter altogether. I have spoken with some of the sales managers at the television stations and they have agreed to air it, but because it is a political ad it cannot be considered a public service announcement and therefore, we must pay for it to be aired. Unfortunately, this will cost a whole lot more than what is left in our account after producing the ad, producing brochures and bumper stickers that we have handed out at local events across the state, and saving 30 dogs from being euthanized in the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. That being said, as much as we hate to keep asking, we really need your help once again. For those of you have already donated so much, please do not feel obligated to donate again unless you are truly able. We do not want anyone to put undue stress upon themselves, and we truly appreciate what you have already done. From the smallest amount to the largest, we appreciate you one and all! What we are asking is for those that have not donated before, please consider doing so now. There are many who signed this petition so we know you care! Just a small amount would make a huge difference! With your help, I believe we CAN MAKE A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER in this state, despite the latest perceived setback! www.gofundme.com/rccdsw
