Dear All, Thank you again for supporting my campaign to introduce statutory bereavement leave. I am pleased to say that for the last eight months I've been working alongside ACAS on new Bereavement Leave Guidance in the workplace. This was an area which was very limited when I started my campaign,three and half years ago, following the tragic loss of my young son Jack, and too discover for myself that there is no legislation in place to give people time off from work to deal with their grief. Little did I know that, as Jack’s 6th Birthday approaches, I would be involved with the launch of this guidance in the Houses of Parliament speaking alongside other supporters of my campaign. Working on this guidance is a massive stepping stone in the right direction, however I will be continuing my campaign to achieve legislation for statutory bereavement leave to ensure that vulnerable employees, who perhaps don’t have understanding and compassionate employers, are also protected and I will still need your help to do this. I have been supported in my campaign by ACAS, many MPs, Change.org, Child Bereavement UK, and many others but most importantly you, as you're the ones who have shared my story and signed my petition.
