Proposed Pleasanton Costco Economic Study Flawed

The city's attempt to let the developer pay for an "independent" economic impact study failed to account for the fact that the negative impacts that the proposed big box stores will have on traffic and other small businesses will result in significantly less "projected" sales tax revenues- especially once the undisclosed tax breaks Costco is asking for are also added to the projections. The lengths to which the developer and city are willing to go to build at all costs is astounding. We will continue to fight for responsible growth and could use your help by encouraging you to vote for Measure MM on November 8th to limit big box stores in the Johnson Drive EDZ area.
