Playmates - Please Make MMPR Figures And Products For Adult Collectors
The Issue
In March 2025, at the New York Toy Fair, Playmates Toys revealed their new "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Re-Ignition" toyline, which consists of new action figures, role-play items like the Blade Blaster and the Power Morpher, and new 8-inch figures that are replicas of the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" toys that Bandai made in 1993. Playmates also unveiled a collectors line aimed for adults. However, the figures revealed have multiple problems, such as incorrect helmets, missing paint on the helmets and/or parts of the figures, and a lack of an alternate civilian head like each figure made by Hasbro had. Several fans were also disappointed with the reveals of the Dinozords toys, their incorrect paint and/or sculpting and lack of articulation and the reveals with some of some of the villains figures, such as the "head-spinning" feature for the Putty Patroller and the missing paint for King Sphinx. These errors could be fixed before the products are sold in stores, but a lot of fans are disappointed by the products revealed by Playmates for their MMPR products.
If Playmates Toys is going to make new "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" figures and products, then we, the fans, who grew up watching "Mighty Morphin" when it aired from 1993 to 1995 on The Fox Kids Network, would like to see new items made for adults to buy. Fans would like to see new role-play items made for adults, including show-accurate replicas of the Power Morpher, the Green Ranger's Power Morpher, the Blade Blaster, the Power Rangers' Power Weapons that combine to form the Power Blaster, and the Green Ranger's Dragon Dagger. Fans would also like to see new and improved figures for the main Power Rangers with alternate civilian heads like Hasbro's "Power Rangers: Lightning Collection" toyline, new and improved transforming figures for the Dinozords, the Thunderzords, the Ninja Zords and the Shogun Zords that are properly sculpted and painted. Fans also would love to see new six-inch action figures of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Evil Space Aliens and monsters from the show's three seasons (including Bones, King Sphinx, Eye Guy, Pudgy Pig, Madame Woe, Terror Toad and more) that are resculpted and properly painted to be accurate to how they look on the TV series.
However, if Playmates Toys does make new "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" products for adults, we, the fans, would like to see new products made or to remake products that fans missed out previously, such as Auto-Morphin' "flip-head" figures of all eleven Rangers with civilian heads (the Green Ranger, the White Ranger, both Black Rangers, both Pink Rangers, the Blue Ranger, both Yellow Rangers, and and both Red Rangers), all eleven Rangers as teenagers in normal clothes, civilian characters like Ernie from the Gym and Juice Bar and variations of Bulk and Skull, the Battle Bikes, the Shark Cycles, henchmen like the Z-Putties and Tengas, allies like Alpha 5 and Ninjor, and items from the 1995 film 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie', including new action figures, Zords, and role-play items like the Power Morphers and the helmets of all six Rangers.
