An innocent sweet child appears to be used by the parents to advertise their organic farm for cuteness, likes, follows and “shares” while promoting dangerous mishandling of fragile prey animals.
Children haven’t the size or physical dexterity to handle rabbits safely, nor have they the maturity to remember always to handle them properly. As a result, rabbits handled by young children are easily injured or killed. Mishandled or dropped rabbits are left with broken bones or more commonly broken backs. Young children should never be allowed to pick them up.
Rabbits are ground-dwelling species, and a prey item for many predators. It is completely against a rabbit's natural tendency to want to be held far above the ground where he cannot control his own motions and activities. When you force a bunny to be held against his will, you reinforce his innate notion that you are a predator trying to restrain him.* RABBITS ARE NOT TOYS FOR CHILDREN.
Rabbits are physically delicate animals, having fragile bones suspension and/or struggling/kicking of the rabbit can lead to fracturing of the spine.
Numerous videos reveal rabbit’s repeatedly trying to escape being handled, running away, stressfully panting while hiding under a tree or trying to rest in the grass however, the rabbits are repeatedly chased and picked up by either the child or adult and put back in uncomfortable situations to film “cute media videos”. This highly stressful practice does not allow the required resting time during exercise.
The rabbits on the farm are repeatedly carried, mishandled and terrified while being dangled off the ground and put in unnatural situations. They are put on a jumping trampoline, in a moving wheelbarrow, held around the neck to keep on a rocking chair while the parents film a video(s) they continually promote as cute. How incredibly appalling the lop rabbit was put on the trunk of a tree and left for several minutes to make a video for Facebook, a situation that is extremely dangerous and terrifying to a rabbit.
Children like a companion they can hold, carry, and cuddle. That's why stuffed animals are so popular. Rabbits are not passive and cuddly. They are ground-loving creatures who feel frightened and insecure when held and restrained.
A kid will want to pick up a rabbit and squeeze; squeezing a rabbit can be terrifying to them and will cause them to thrash or kick in a panic which could also result in a broken back. A rabbit under pressure will bite or scratch, if a rabbit scratches or bites your child, they could develop a reaction or infection. Rabbits are hardwired to be on the lookout for danger and can shut down or have a heart attack when threatened.
Irresponsible parents unethically holding a camera while their children unknowingly hurt a helpless animal is not cute, not funny and not playful.
The act it is dangerous, cruel, ignorant and immensely unfair to both the animal and the child.
This cruelty is not the fault of the innocent child.
The parents are guiding, encouraging and teaching this bad behavior to the child. She is a precious sweet little girl who loves animals, a child who has absolutely no idea she is being too rough. The parents are totally irresponsible, ignorant of proper animal care, ethics or compassion.
In general, rabbits do not like to be picked up. Even adults must learn how to handle rabbits safely by always supporting the rump, above the tail. To the unknowing public or uneducated person on species animal care the videos may not appear cruel however; the animals in the videos are in fact being tormented at the direction of the parents and their lack of morals.
While we applaud Gabriel Miller for his honorable, ethical vegan agricultural practices and great recipes; he does not appear to honor his proclaimed support of Animal Welfare.
We the petitioners respectfully ask Mr. Miller to respect his animals alongside his family, take interest in the welfare of the animals under his care and educate himself on the special needs of each animal on the farm while contacting an Exotic Vet who specializes in rabbits for credible advice. Respect those needs and teach his family how to safely interact with fragile animals while petting them on the ground where they feel safe; and when they express they have had enough interaction or do not want any, let them safely rest and be alone. It is a miracle if either rabbit has not been injured or become ill from stress.
It appears rabbits are not the only tormented mishandled animals on the farm, other animals are seen mishandled such as ducks, chickens, chicks and a small elderly dog. Ducks are seen being fed popcorn at the guidance of the parent despite ducks can’t digest popcorn hulls and kernels and they can get stuck in the crop and rot over time. Rabbits are allowed to free roam outdoors where they are easy targets for attacks from birds of prey and other predators and possibly eating toxic plants.
It is a common misconception rabbits are low maintenance pets; instead, they require special care. Rabbits hide illnesses injuries, or a symptom which misleads their caretakers and prevents prompt medical attention. Before getting a pet rabbit for a child please properly research if they are a good fit for your family.

In most cases, children and rabbits are not ideal companions. A rabbit's delicate skeleton and prey-species nature predisposes him to be fearful of the attentions of most active, happy children, however well-meaning they might be.

It appears the parents find mistreating and mishandling prey animals and other farm animals amusing entertainment, so much, they continually film videos for social media.
White lop cruelly put in and left in tree for video entertainment, the rabbit is terrified and could have fallen and broken his back, bones or died from stress and fright.
Mishandling the Flemish giant, mishandling and throwing a duck in a wheelbarrow.
Repeatedly and roughly mishandling white Lop rabbit, putting on jumping trampoline, rabbit kicking and quivering to be put down on the ground.
White lop bunny tries to escape being held at least 7 times, repeatedly put back to stressful situation by child and parent, this torment is cruel and abusive to the rabbits.
White lop forced to rock in rocking chair, rabbit tightly held around the neck while parent films video.
Squeezing and mishandling white lop, stressed terrified rabbit can be seen closing its eyes often and panting rapidly/quivering. Mishandling duck.
Chick mishandled and thumped in wheelbarrow, more forceful mishandling of rabbits, Flemish struggles, white rabbit continues to keep its eyes closed and quivering.
Repeatedly mishandling white lop and throwing chickens
Adults appear uneducated on handling rabbits, white lop so stressed out eyes are closed often, struggling to escape child putting on trampoline. Flemish giant, more stressful mishandling.
More cruel rough mishandling and squeezing of rabbits directed by parents filming video.
Repeatedly tormenting white lop who continues to try and escape.
Roughly handling arthritic elderly Chihuahua and repeatedly dropping him on the ground under parent supervision.
