We've been quiet for a while so time to let them know we are still here and care what happens to the Warren Road Access! All welcome. An Easter Sandleford Bunny Hop will take place at 2pm on the 20 Mar, Bunny Costumes and Easter Hats/Bonnets welcome! We will hop (or walk! :)) up the Warren Road to the Sandleford footpath and begin our Easter Egg Hunt along the footpath. Everyone is welcome! Wellies are recommended! For those without children, it would be great to see you and you can continue along the footpath to the Swan at Newtown! I am hoping to get the Newbury Weekly News and the Observer to cover the story so the more people at the start for the photograph the better! There will be a prize for the best bunny costume and the best decorated Easter Hat! Can I ask that each family donate a bag of small eggs on the day for the Easter Egg Hunt?
The Wash Common Action Group are local Mums, Dads, Grans, Grandads, Aunties and Uncles, who are trying to raise the issue of Road Safety in the area of Andover Road and Monks Lane. There are thousands of children making their way to school every day on what are already very busy roads. An additional 1000 vehicular movements per peak hour has been estimated to come from the new Sandleford Development and we feel that the all-vehicular access proposed for Warren Road, the addition of traffic lanes and a reduction of pavements widths to the Andover Road will increase the danger to all vulnerable road users, in particular children walking to school. This is the second of our protest actions (we believe in having some fun whilst we are doing it!) and we hope to see you there! Please feel free to share this event. Thank you, Julie
