The Issue

Mountain House is growing rapidly, with an estimated population of 30,687 residents as of January 1, 2026. While residents have access to regional hospitals and emergency services, local options for after-hours urgent and other medical care remain limited, and many healthcare needs require travel outside the community.

The City of Mountain House is currently updating its General Plan, which will guide the community's growth and development over the next 20 years. This is an important opportunity to ensure healthcare access and infrastructure are considered as Mountain House grows.

We respectfully ask the City of Mountain House to:

• Evaluate current and future healthcare needs and access.

• Identify appropriate opportunities and locations for future medical facilities.

• Work with healthcare providers to encourage new medical services and facilities in Mountain House as the community grows.

• Explore opportunities to improve access to primary care, urgent care, specialty care, and other healthcare services.

• Plan responsibly for future emergency and hospital-level healthcare needs based on population growth, community need, and feasibility.

This petition does not ask the City to build or operate a hospital or require a private healthcare provider to establish a facility in Mountain House.

Our request is simple: As Mountain House grows, the City should proactively plan for and help encourage the healthcare services and facilities our community may need in the future.

Mountain House is growing. Our healthcare access should grow with it.
