The rapid, unchecked expansion of data centers has created an enormous strain on local counties in Georgia. We are calling for a moratorium on the approval and construction of data centers until clear, enforceable standards are established to protect residents, local resources, and the environment.

Data centers place a massive burden on the energy grid, consume huge volumes of water, and generate significant noise and air polluted. Without regulation, data centers can undermine local sustainability goals and diminish our overall quality of life.

We are asking for responsible planning. A temporary pause will allow our community to conduct environmental impact studies, develop zoning laws and sustainability standards, and protect residential neighborhoods.
