Blind chess player needs the well deserved government job.

The Issue

“My interest in chess started when I was in school but I could not get proper training due to financial constraints. I learnt everything by practicing on my own or by playing with my friends,” says Mohammed Salih who is 100 percent visually impaired since birth.

Mohammed Salih is leading his life forward by not only fighting against opponents in chess, but also against bad conditions in life. The prize money he is getting from different competitions is the lone income of the family consisting of 5 members. He couldn't participate many games due to the lack of funds.

Mohammed Salih is the silver medalist for India at the 2018 Asian Paralympics held at Indonesia. He travelled alone from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and won many competitions. Still the Kerala government has withheld his well deserving government job. Unemployability and thus financial crisis ruin both his career in chess and life itself. The forum brings forward the immediate need of the rightly deserving Government job for Mohammed Salih to the Government.
