Commissioners approved the MOD-SE-17-03 application with only a revised setback of 200 feet for Flat Shoals Road & 150 feet for Madden Bridge Road.
The current MOA shows the tax revenue coming into the county as $24,000 per month for 45 years. That is equivalent to $96 a year per household. THIS PROJECT WILL NOT LOWER TAXES. THE ONLY BIG MONEY THIS PROJECT PROMISES IS TO THE LOCAL BANKERS, LAND OWNER, CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, AND SOLAR DEVELOPER.
Despite providing our arguments/solutions to both the Board of Commissioners and the IDA- to share with the developer in the hopes they would incorporate our requested solutions- no additional conditions were added for water testing or alternate water sources for residents. Many residents are on Bored Wells-runoff will easily enter their well heads. No written conditions on the cleaning of the panels-chemicals & heavy metals will be introduced during construction and site management. No acoustical barriers for inverters- WE WILL HEAR THIS FROM OUR HOMES. No provision for emergency services. No additional limit on construction hours, times, or routes. NO PROTECTION.
PEOPLE IN FAVOR OF THIS PROJECT HAVE MADE COMMENTS THAT OUR VOICE DOESN'T MATTER- "PIKE HAS 15,000 RESIDENTS-THIS IS GOOD FOR 14,990".
HELP US TAKE A STAND!! Donate to our legal fund in the go fund me link attached- or copy/paste this into the browser. We have an attorney ready to fight for us!!
We are in violation of our water protection ordinances by introducing impervious surfaces that will prevent ground water re-charge and change the quality of the natural water runoff. Not to mention the pollution to Elkins Creek due to the erosion control problems during construction these solar projects are KNOWN for.
IF EVERYONE THAT SIGNED THIS PETITION WOULD DONATE $79 WE WOULD MEET OUR GOAL IMMEDIATLEY!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!
Sincerely,
Pike Residents for Responsible Solar
