Dear friends, I ask you once again to please share my appeal for funding support for the FirstFollowers reentry program where I am the volunteer Co-Director in Champaign IL. Today I bring you the story of Bethany Britton who has recovered from addiction and a felony conviction and has just been accepted for the Fall term to the Masters Program at the University of Illinois Department of Social Work. She has been working with FirstFollowers for a year now and intends to dedicate her career to community development, particularly focusing on support for women who have histories of addiction and incarceration. I ask for your support so we can help other people with felony convictions advance and give back to the community, both via direct assistance to individuals and advocacy work to change policies and practices in the criminal justice and social services arena.
