This week I went to see Jane Harris and Sara Lambert at the head office of the National Autistic Society. I was accompanied by Kieran Rose of Autistic Advocate blog and Richard Mills of Autism Research. In a one hour long meeting we discussed why and how legislation is needed and finally after 4 years they agreed they would back legislation. This is a great stride forward and one which was badly needed. The meeting was recorded and will be up for public use soon on my organisations website Www.autisticinclusivemeets.com The Westminiter Autism Commision report on fake cures will be launched at the end of March, it will push for legislation and I hope will be a big step towards the end goal, to make it illegal to sell, promote or use unregulated scientifically unproven products on autistics in the name or search of a cure. Autism is a lifelong neurological condition and cannot be cured as its not a sickness, illness, injury or disease. These treatments do nothing but cause pain and mental trauma.
