We, the peace-loving Filipinos, with her Filipino foster parents and friends APPEAL for REASON & UNDERSTANDING to give the Taho Girl (Jiale "Carla" Zhang) another chance and let her stay in the Philippines.

• SHE LOVES THE PHILIPPINES and the FILIPINOS.
• All her Filipino friends attest to her being a LOVING DAUGHTER, a FRIEND TO MANY, a MODEL CHRISTIAN.
• The public was NOT PRESENTED with the WHOLE TRUTH. 
• Some politicians RUSHED TO SENSATIONALIZE the issue for weeks even after the Taho Girl had repeatedly apologized. In fact, she and the policeman have FORGIVEN each other and made up.

What the  news didn't tell you.

• The Taho Girl was PROVOKED by the police at the MRT.
• She actually OBEYED and put down the taho without any complaint when she was told to at first, then the police hurled abusive comments at her, telling the taho girl that "Chinese are not welcome here and you should go back to China!"  That verbal abuse led her to pick up the taho and threw it at the policeman who said that.
• She has ACCEPTED FAULT, APOLOGIZED REPEATEDLY, and SHOWN REMORSE (unlike other violators who commit far worse crimes), and the policeman had actually forgiven her already.  The Taho Girl and the Policeman have since made up.
• But some politicians INTERVENED, POLITICIZED, and NATIONALIZED the issue.
• Thats when more than 10 masked "Agents" horrifyingly, forcibly dragged the 23-year old girl, without any arrest warrant, refused to identify themselves or charges against the girl... refused to sign the turnover papers or to allow her lawyer to accompany her... Minutes after she fulfilled all the bail requirements...hardened criminals and rapists are treated better!

She LOVES the Philippines and her Filipino friends.  She has lived in the Philippines with her foster family for more than six (6) years and is well loved in her community and school.  The fact that she has lived in Bacolod, Pangasinan, Manila shows she has truly fallen in love with the Philippines.   

The fact that she eats taho daily, takes the MRT, travels around counter, became a Christian, enrolled in a PH school all shows how much the Philippines mean to her.

She has made many Filipino friends who attest that she is a loving daughter, loving sister, loving friend to many, loving young leader whose only vice is reading books.

She became a Christian while she was in the Philippines, she does not smoke, drink, or attend late-night parties.

Where are these politicians when truly grievous and heinous crimes by Americans, including the raping  and killing of Filipinos happen?  Where are the public protests when criminals from the US, Japan, Korea commit heinous crimes against the Filipinos, or the numerous rapes and abuses of overseas Filipino workers in the Middle East?

We are PEACE-LOVING Filipinos. 

Bringing healing to the relationship between the peoples involved will be more fruitful to friendship and humanity.

Letting the Taho Girl stay in the Philippines shows to these politicians that we will not let politics blind us from the TRUTH and our GOD-GIVEN ABILITY TO FORGIVE.
